Itinerary
Departure – Cape Town
Your day begins with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Cape Town, heading out along the N2 towards the Overberg region.
Sir Lowry’s Pass & Overberg
Travel over Sir Lowry’s Pass, one of the most scenic mountain routes in the Western Cape, offering sweeping views over False Bay. Continue through fertile valleys and stop at a local farm stall for coffee and breakfast (own expense).
Bredasdorp – Maritime History
Proceed through Caledon to Bredasdorp, where you’ll visit the Shipwreck Museum. Discover fascinating artefacts and stories from ships that met their fate along this dramatic coastline.
Cape Agulhas – Southernmost Tip of Africa
Arrive at Cape Agulhas late morning. Visit the historic lighthouse, built in 1848 and one of the oldest working lighthouses in South Africa.
Climb to the top for panoramic views and walk to the official marker where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet, a truly special photo opportunity.
Return via Coastal Route
After exploring Cape Agulhas, begin your return journey via the scenic coastal road. Stop in Hermanus for lunch and a stroll through this lively seaside town.
Continue to Betty’s Bay, where you may visit the Stony Point Penguin Colony (time permitting), home to one of the largest breeding colonies of African penguins.
Return to Cape Town
Arrive back in Cape Town in the early evening, with drop-off at your hotel or guesthouse.
